A connected current transformer (CT) is not always a verified CT. Even when installation appears complete, common issues such as an incorrect ratio, inverted polarity, or a relay connected to the wrong CT core can remain undetected until commissioning or operation. While these problems can usually be corrected, they are far easier and less costly to resolve if they are identified before a substation is energized.
The new CMC CT-Check extension enables functional current transformer checks with the CMC 500 during a High-Current Upgrade. With a simple and efficient workflow, engineers can verify that CTs are correctly connected and that the complete measurement chain is functioning as expected before commissioning progresses. This helps eliminate uncertainty and provides confidence that CT installations are ready for service.
- CT primary injection testing
- CT wiring and relay validation
- Contact resistance testing
- Commissioning and maintenance
Use the same test set to verify CT installations and perform high-current field testing—delivering greater confidence before your substation goes live.
Same test set. Same commissioning visit. More confidence before energization.
